Hello, my name is Drew Springer, and I am a cartoonist and a freelance artist.

I draw, color, and sometimes write a webcomic called Hunky Dory (link) which updates every Monday and Friday.

In addition, I do occasional illustrations for a locally published magazine called Metro Family (you can see one of these illustrations in my gallery).

For the moment, most of the images in my gallery are Hunky Dory comics. As soon as I have the time and access to my other work, I will post more pieces that show a bit more of what I can do.

I am available for commissions!
If you'd like a custom piece of art by yours truly, send me a message--but first, please read the guidelines below.

1. I'm not going to do a commission for free, so please don't ask. I do charge for commissions. As to how much it will cost you...that depends on what you want.

2. The more complicated (ie, time-consuming) your request is, the more it will cost. Keeping this in mind, please refer to 'The Triangle': It's a fair translation between craftsman and customer, where the customer gets to pick any two of the three legs of a triangle, meaning the third leg becomes the artist's choice. So if a customer wants something high quality and cheap, it'll take a long time. If you want something fast and good, it's going to cost a lot.

3. Here is what I will do, provided the price is right: a) pencil drawings, b) inked drawings, c) colored drawings (either by Paint Shop Pro or another medium--cost will vary), d) comics no longer than one page, either black-and-white or color, depending on what you want to pay for. A pencil drawing of, say, one character will not cost you a lot. But an inked and colored picture of the entire Hunky Dory cast, for example, would run you quite a bit more.

4. I will not do animation or 3-d pieces. Paintings are unlikely; I can do them, but it will cost a lot because painting takes a lot of time and isn't something I particularly enjoy doing.

5. Please be as clear and thorough as possible in your instructions--this is essential for you to get what you want. It is highly unlikely that I will do revisions for you, and if I do, it will cost you. So clarity and specificity are your friends in this situation.

6. I reserve the right to refuse your request for artwork for any reason. If I'm too busy, or just plain old don't want to draw what you're asking for, I probably won't (unless you're willing to offer enough money to convince me otherwise).

7. Once a price is agreed upon, I will expect payment up front. If the price is over $50, I will expect at least half up front and the rest upon project completion (subject to change).

That being said, if you'd like to commission something from me, please do! I will more than likely be happy to coomplete your request.
